Frances Hodgson Burnett (1849-1924)

Frances Hodgson Burnett fue una escritora británica. Nació en Manchester, el 24 de noviembre de 1849 y falleció en Nueva York, el 29 de octubre de 1924.

Aunque nació en Manchester, de joven, debido a la ruina de su familia, emigró a Estados Unidos, allí comenzó a ganarse la vida con sus escritos, poesías y relatos cortos.

Su primera novela no tuvo éxito, pero si las posteriores, hoy algunas de ellas han sido incluso, llevadas al cine con primeras figuras. Sus obras suelen tratar con frecuencia la diferencia de clases y los reveses de la fortuna.
